A Corcoran man is dead after his pickup collided with a big rig trailer Tuesday morning on Highway 41 near Quail Avenue in Hanford, the CHP said.

The 33-year-old man was headed northbound on Highway 41 in his 2001 Chevy Silverado when he drifted into the southbound lane, hitting the outside rear axle of the flatbed trailer of the big rig, CHP officer Adam Barresi said.

The Corcoran man died on the scene of the 8:40 a.m. crash, Barresi said. The driver of the big rig, a 61-year-old who was driving from Utah, did not suffer any injuries from the accident, Barresi said.

The name of the Corcoran man is being withheld until his family is contacted, Barresi said.
