Kings County apartments to implement smoke-free policy

The Fresno BeeJune 30, 2014

El Sol Properties, an apartment management company in Hanford, will be the first in Kings County to implement a smoke-free policy beginning Tuesday.

The policy will protect tenants, visitors and staff from the dangers of second-hand smoke in their apartments. It will prohibit all tenants from smoking in 75% of certain units in the 80-unit apartment complexes, in all common areas, including the pool areas, and on balconies and patios of all units. Smoking will be permitted in designated outdoor areas only.

El Sol Properties operates the Outrigger, Casa del Rio and Normandy apartment communities at 650 Greenfield Ave. in Hanford. The apartments will implement the program with assistance from the Kings County Tobacco Control Program.
