Sanger to launch transit service to national parks

The Fresno BeeJune 30, 2014

Sanger will launch a new transit service to destinations in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks beginning in 2015.

The service will be open to residents as well as tourists and will make three or more trips a day. Buses will pick up passengers in Sanger and other locations, travel to the parks and then deliver passengers back to their pickup point.

The Sanger boarding station will be at City Hall Annex, 1789 Jensen Ave.

The program is a two-year pilot program funded through the Fresno Council of Governments with a combination of state, federal and local dollars. The initial budget for the project is $582,000, including a $60,000 local match.
