The Yosemite Land Grant's 150th anniversary is commemorated

Political dignitaries and conservationists were on hand to commemorate the sesquicentennial of the Yosemite Land Grant in Mariposa Grove. The ceremony paid tribute to Abraham Lincoln who signed the act to protect Yosemite Valley and Mariposa Grove in 1864. The move eventually led to the formation of the National Parks System.
