A wanted Visalia man was arrested Friday after a routine search yielded 39 small heroin packets packaged for sale, police said.

Visalia Police Sgt. Ozzie Dominguez said an officer spotted Jose Lucatero, 53, near the Lincoln Oval Park. The officer knew Lucatero had several prior warrants and arrested him near Locust Street and Second Avenue.

Lucatero was booked into Tulare County Jail, where a search turned up the drugs. He will face heroin sale charges in addition to his previous charges.
