Merced police Friday announced the arrest of the Merced police chief's son-in-law on a manslaughter charge.

According to police, Jesse Saucido, 36, is accused of manslaughter in the case of an Atwater man who died of injuries suffered in a fight. Saucido is the son-in-law of Police Chief Norman Andrade.

Police say Saucido was involved in a fight with Jack Kline, 55, during a performance by comedian Ralphie May at the Merced Theatre on March 21. The two started arguing over noise during the concert; detectives believe the confrontation escalated and Saucido punched Kline.

Kline was taken to a Modesto hospital, where he was treated and released, police say. He died on April 9. The Merced County Coroner's office submitted a report last week attributing Kline's death to injuries suffered in the fight.
