Fresno releases latest list of top-5 car thieves

The Fresno BeeJune 27, 2014

Fresno police named Vincent Madrid as the city's No. 1 car thief on the department's latest top-five wanted list.

Police say Madrid, 26, is wanted for auto theft and felony evading and is on probation for auto theft and has an outstanding probation warrant for his arrest.

Monica Macias, 31, is No. 2 on the list with six outstanding warrants. Police say she is a "prolific" identity thief, too.

Tomas Hueso, 31, is No. 3. Police say he's active in southwest Fresno and has two felony warrants.

No. 4 Donald Dibble, 35, has a prior arrest for running a chop shop and has two warrants.

Police say No. 5 Daniel Zajac, 23, is active in northeast Fresno and Clovis and has five felony warrants.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of any of the suspects is asked to call the Career Criminal Auto Theft team at (559) 621-CCAT.

The CCAT team was formed in 2011 after Fresno reached a dubious height: Car-theft capital of the U.S., according to a study by the National Insurance Crime Bureau.

Fresno police began using the top-five list as one way to target thieves.
