The Fresno BeeJune 26, 2014

Big hit, hot pitching: Alex Glenn hit a three-run home run and Aaron Blair allowed one run on five hits and struck out eight in seven innings as the Visalia Rawhide beat the host San Jose Giants 6-2 in a Cal League game Thursday.

But that's not all: Blair also had a run-scoring double in the first inning after an RBI single by Steve McQuail for a 2-0 Rawhide lead. McQuail had another run-scoring single in the third before Blair's big fly.

Belt sighting: Big-league 1B Brandon Belt (broken thumb) began a rehab assignment with the Giants and singled in the first. He finished 1 for 3 with a strikeout and was hit by a pitch.

Up next: 7 p.m. today at San Jose, with Rawhide RH Braden Shipley (1-1, 2.81) scheduled to face Giants RH Chris Stratton (4-7, 4.75).
