GIRLS BADMINTON ALL-STARS

FIRST TEAM

HOPE HER

• Vitals: Senior, Sunnyside

• Smash: Overshadowed in a four-year career by Bee multiple Players of the Year Pookie Gonzalez of Bullard and Moua Yang of Clovis East, repeat Bee All-Star Her nonetheless exits the Wildcats campus as one of the most revered badminton players the area has known following a combination of 26-2 singles/doubles mark this season.

MADDIE OGAS

• Vitals: Junior, Clovis

• Smash: Also a Bee All-Star in volleyball, the 6-footer has laid the foundation for a dominant senior year in athletics. She went 21-1 as the Cougars' No. 1 singles player.

JENNA PERRY

• Vitals: Junior, Clovis

• Smash: The team's "calm before the storm," says coach Thad Crews, Perry went 17-3 as the Cougars' No. 2 singles player and placed second in the section individual tournament.

KYLEE SHAW

• Vitals: Junior, Bullard

• Smash: Established momentum for a big senior season by going 41-8 as the Knights' No. 1 singles player, including a fourth-place finish in the section individual tournament.

BELINDA VUE

• Vitals: Senior, Buchanan

• Smash: A doubles specialist -- and adapting well to her partner of coach's choice -- she went 25-5 while leading the Bears to the section team title.

ALEXIS RODRIGUEZ & CASSIDY CROUCH

• Vitals: Senior/Sophomore, Clovis

• Smash: Section doubles champions teamed wire-to-wire in a 22-2 season while powering the Cougars to a 14-1 record and runner-up finish in the section team tournament as well. Four-year player Rodriguez also landed the school's Tim Simons Award (student/athlete, character) among all girls in spring sports.

KA THAO & WENTING LIANG

• Vitals: Seniors, Clovis East

• Smash: Split with Clovis' section doubles champions Alexis Rodriguez and Cassidy Crouch while placing second in the section individual tournament and finishing 30-4.

ELIZABETH THENG & LESLIE LAM

• Vitals: Junior/senior, Clovis North

• Smash: Linked consecutive 24-0 regular seasons and, this year, won the Clovis North Tournament and placed third in the section individual tournament.

HONORABLE MENTION

• Christa Den Hartog, senior, Buchanan

• Sabrina Chau, senior, Buchanan

• Tia Tang, senior, Buchanan

• Michaela Sylvia, senior, Buchanan
