Letter nailed the problem

FresnoJune 25, 2014

Congratulations to Ron Genini for his June 22 letter on President Roosevelt's swift and decisive reaction to Pearl Harbor! Genini told it as it is.

I was 10 years old, living in Ohio, when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, and on that Sunday, my friends and I watched National Guard trucks and cars going down the streets, ready for war. Yes, that was the same day as the attack.

But then, of course, we had leaders in the government — not people who had no idea what to do about anything.
