The San Francisco Giants promoted Fresno Grizzlies slugger Adam Duvall to the major leagues Wednesday.

It is the first big-league promotion for Duvall, who hit .297 with 23 home runs and 67 RBIs in 67 games for Triple-A Fresno.

Duvall, 25, replaces outfielder Angel Pagan, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list with back inflammation that has sidelined him since June 8.

Duvall played both third and first base for the Grizzlies, who return home Thursday night.
