Police responded to two stabbings Tuesday in central Visalia, catching a suspect in one case but still looking for two people in the other case.

Just after 10 p.m., a man called for help in the area of County Center Drive and Campus Avenue saying he had been stabbed by two people. The man was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition, police said.

No other details were released. Police ask anyone with information about the stabbing to call the Visalia Police Department at (559) 734-8116.

Police say that in the first case, Oscar Sotello, 35, stabbed a victim in Lincoln Oval Park just before 5 p.m., then was heard saying he would return with a gun and kill someone. The stabbing victim was treated at Kaweah Delta for a non-life threatening wound.

Sotello returned to the park about 7:15 p.m. still armed with a knife and threatened two people. Police later found him hiding in a nearby home, where police say he threatened two witnesses while he was being arrested.
