Oakhurst CHP to set DUI checkpoint Friday

The Oakhurst California Highway Patrol will be conducting a checkpoint on Friday in an effort to reduce the number of persons killed and injured in alcohol- or drug-involved crashes.

The checkpoint will take place from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. somewhere within Madera County. Officers will be contacting drivers to check for signs of alcohol or drug impairment as well as proper licensing.

Specifically assigned officers will also be patrolling the surrounding area searching for DUI drivers.
