Test piling near Madera for high speed rail

Contractors for California's proposed high-speed train line are building a test piling near Madera to test the design of bridge supports to span Highway 145 and the Fresno River. The load-test pile is one of the first visible pieces of work on the first stretch of the controversial rail project in the San Joaquin Valley between Madera and Fresno.
