SNEAK PREVIEW: CITY/COUNTY ALL-STAR BASKETBALL GAMES
• Wednesday: 5:30 p.m. (girls), 7:30 p.m. (boys), Buchanan High
• General admission: $10
• Girls gig: Matchup to watch, should it come to fruition — and why not? — two-time Bee Most Outstanding Defensive Player Portia Neale of Clovis West and the City (next: Cal State Fullerton) vs. three-time Bee All-Star and 2014 co-Player of the Year Brooke Johnson of Hanford and the County (next: UNLV). The County will also fire with Bee All-Stars Erin Pallesi of Selma and her 1,502 career points, and Sarah Vasquez of Division V champion Immanuel and her 76 3-pointers last season. The City has a go-to player in two-time Bee All-Star Samantha Earl, the third-leading scorer (1,420) in Clovis history.
• Boys bash: Ten Bee All-Stars will be showcased, including Player of the Year Murshid Randle of Central and the County and Most Outstanding Offensive Player Daryl Edwards of D-III titlist Fresno and the City. Two-time Tri-River Athletic Conference Player of the Year Randle will haul his school-record 1,831 points in four seasons to Lassen Junior College. Edwards, who set Warriors season records for points (796) and 3's (76) while averaging 24.9, will attend a prep school, West Oak Academy of Orlando, Fla., for one year before advancing to Cincinnati on scholarship. He'll be supported by a deep cast of Bee All-Stars in Clovis East's Dylan Eamigh, Clovis West's Jakari McClain, Bullard's Quinn Rystad, and Tyquan Neal and Daylon Potts of D-I champion Edison. Randle will team one last time with fellow Bee All-Star Nate Amundsen of Central, who's going to Concordia. Additional Bee All-Stars on the County are powerful inside force Shakor Major of D-IV titlist Washington and four-year guard Troy Arce of Coalinga.
