Missing Oakhurst woman missing from Madera hospital found safe

An at-risk adult who went missing after being released from Madera Community Hospital has been found, the Madera County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday morning.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Erica Stuart said Christina Romero, 43, of Oakhurst was found Monday night in downtown Madera, about a mile from the hospital. She was taken back to the hospital for treatment.

Romero was at the hospital at 7 p.m. Saturday, then released Sunday at 2 a.m., the sheriff's office said. Her family didn't learn of her release until Monday, when they called the hospital to check on her status.
