Rawhide Report 6/22: Visalia 2, San Jose 1

Dominant showing: Visalia Rawhide starting pitcher Braden Shipley struck out 10 and threw seven scoreless innings en route to a 2-1 win against the San Jose Giants on Sunday at Rawhide Ballpark. Shipley, who joined the Rawhide from lower Class-A South Bend this month, allowed five hits and two walks. Shipley was the No. 15 overall pick in the 2013 major league amateur draft after playing for Nevada.

Power stroke: The Rawhide scored both of their runs with the long ball. Rudy Flores hit a solo homer in the fifth and Raul Navarro hit one in the seventh.

Up next: The Rawhide begin a three-game series at Bakersfield, starting at 7:45 p.m. Monday. Rawhide RH Jesse Darrah (3-3, 5.14 ERA) is scheduled to face Blaze RH Daniel Wright (3-0, 3.81).
