4 held in Mendota identity theft investigation

Four people were arrested Friday in an ongoing identity theft investigation, Mendota police said.

Melissa Gonzalez, 30, Cathy Estrada, 49, Sylvia Gonzalez, 39, and Anthony Ochoa, 23, all of Mendota, were arrested on suspicion of identity theft, possession of stolen property and methamphetamine.

Police said they discovered evidence of cooperation between at least six people suspected of identity theft. The thefts have occurred both within and outside of Fresno County.
