9 held at Fresno DUI checkpoint

The Fresno BeeJune 22, 2014

Fresno police arrested nine people on suspicion of driving under the influence during a DUI saturation patrol in the southeast policing district late Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

One of those arrested was a repeat DUI offender who was in violation of his probation, police said. In addition, 32 vehicles were impounded because drivers did not have a valid driver's license or were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The patrol, which included 11 extra-duty officers, was paid for by a grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
