The American Heart Association's Central Valley board of directors has chosen three local physicians and volunteers who have helped champion cardiovascular care in the region. They are: Dr. Alan Birnbaum, Saint Agnes Medical Center; Dr. Kevin Boran, Cardiovascular Consultants Heart Center, and Valencia Burch, vice president — business banking manager, Wells Fargo.

March of Dimes has named Connie Conway as chairwoman for the Walk for Babies 2015 Visalia event.

Michael R. Prosperi has been appointed as wound care director for HealthCare California. He has more than 17 years of specialized wound care experience in the acute and home health settings.

Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, Northern California Community Benefit Programs Division awarded a $70,000 grant to the California Teaching Fellows Foundation to serve 500 more students this summer in free programs that focus on wellness, nutrition, physical activity, STEM and literacy.


U.S. Small Business Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet awarded the Mission Support Award to Fresno SBA district director Carlos G. Mendoza for his work in the agency's SBA Way Initiative.

Central Valley Community Bank has promoted eight vice presidents to senior vice president. They are: Patrick Carman, senior vice president, senior credit officer; Cathy Chatoian, senior vice president, cash management team leader; Terry Crawford, senior vice president, agribusiness team leader; Tim Harris, senior vice president, Sacramento private banking team leader; Jeff Pace, senior vice president, real estate team leader; Renee Savage, senior vice president, loan servicing; Theodore Thome, senior vice president, mid-Valley commercial team leader; and Jennette Williams, senior vice president, Central Valley commercial team leader.
