Buchanan 14-year coach John Jay improved to 366-107 in his Bears career with a 3-0 sweep of Dana Hills in the first round of the Southern California Division I Regionals on May 27, 2014.



A look at some of the top coaching performances during the 2014 boys volleyball season.

John Jay, Buchanan: Had Bears ranked No. 3 nationally and No. 2 in California by after 36-5 season that included tournament titles at Las Vegas Easter Classic and Karch Kiraly Tournament of Champions in Santa Barbara; second-place finish at Poway Best of the West; 10-0 march through the Tri-River Athletic Conference; 25-19, 25-17, 25-16 sweep of Clovis West for the program's third section title in four years; and a semifinal appearance in the CIF Southern California Regional.

Scott Okada, Sanger: Went 29-7 against program's toughest schedule to date, including first 10-0 run through the County/Metro Athletic Conference and a title at the Sanger Slam; and third-place finish at the Las Vegas Easter Classic and fifth at the Deer Valley Tournament.

• Peter Keomanyvanh, Fresno: Best season in program history included 27-4 overall record, 9-1 mark for a first outright North Yosemite League title and quarterfinal finish in section playoffs. Fresno went 9-0 while winning the Madera South Tournament.
