Three Fresno real estate agents have received the Realtor Emeritus distinction from the National Association of Realtors.

The award marks a long career in the real estate industry. It is given to those who have 40 or more years of continuous membership with the association.

The honor was given in May at the Realtor Party Convention & Trade Expo in Washington D.C. to Beverly Contino, a broker associate with Guarantee Real Estate; Sandy Darling, sales manager for the Fig Garden Village branch of Guarantee; and John Scarborough, broker/owner of Scarborough Realty.

Receiving the honor “is not a common thing,” Darling said. “A lot of people leave the business or retire or whatever before they are members for 40 years.”

This year’s recipients join five other local Realtors who received the honor in 2005. Those agents include: Kay Koelsch, Helen Replogle, George Schneider, Helen Smades, and Frank Stepovich.
