Fresno Grizzlies manager to lead PCL at Triple-A All-Star Game

Fresno Grizzlies manager Bob Mariano was named Thursday to skipper the Pacific Coast League team for the 2014 Triple-A All-Star Game.

The 27th annual affair is July 16 at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in North Carolina, home of the International League's Durham Bulls. First pitch is 4:07 p.m., with the game broadcast on the MLB Network as well as the Triple-A All-Star Game Radio Network.

Mariano, 57, is in his third season as manager of the Grizzlies after spending the previous seven years as the San Francisco Giants' coordinator of minor league hitting instruction. Mariano is the first manager from Fresno to serve in the Triple-A All-Star Game.

Charlie Montoyo of the defending league champion Bulls will manage the IL team.
