Man in critical condition after alleged hit and run

Police set up a roadblock on McKinley Avenue following an alleged hit and run on Wednesday.


A man is in extremely critical condition Wednesday night after he was struck by a speeding car in central Fresno, police said.

Sgt. Mike Smith of the Fresno Police Department said that the vehicle did not stop after it hit the man, who was crossing the street near the intersection of McKinley and Normal avenues at around 9:45 p.m.

The vehicle was described as a white or silver Sedan. There were no descriptions of the driver.

Smith said that Westbound McKinley between Normal and Mayfair avenues will be closed until detectives from the Traffic Reconstruction Crew complete their investigation. Officers are currently searching the neighborhoods near the accident.
