GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD OUTSTANDING TRACK ATHLETE: JAZMEN BUNCH

• Grade: Senior

• School: Edison

• Bunch of greatness: Runner-up to Clovis North's Mikaela Smith for The Bee's Athlete of the Year in the sport, Bunch led all individual scoring in the Central Section Masters Championships with 24½ points by winning the 100 (wind-aided 11.52), the 200 (wind-aided 23.93) and contributing legs to a winning 400 relay (46.59) and silver medal 1,600 relay (3:53.54). Her wind-legal season best times of 11.61 in the 100 and 23.82 in the 200 are both No. 2 all-time in the section, as is the Tigers' 400 relay (46.26). Next: San Diego State.

In 30 years of coaching, I've never had a young lady to wanted to get better; she was never satisfied, regardless of her times. Her work ethic is incredible.
