A Visalia woman sustained major injuries in a two-vehicle collision north of Strathmore, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The crash happened about 2 p.m. Tuesday. The CHP said Diana Irene Lombardi, 67, was driving a Honda north on Highway 65 when Ruperto Magallon, 44, of Porterville, heading west in a Dodge on Avenue 208, failed to yield for a stop sign at the highway and drove into Lombardi's path.

Lombardi, Magallon and his passenger Jose Garna, 63, of Porterville, were extracted from the wreckage by rescue workers and taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center. Magallon and Garna sustained minor injuries.
