Gay pride rally to be held in Porterville

The Fresno BeeJune 17, 2014

Gay Porterville will hold a "We're Still Here" rally Tuesday in Porterville.

The rally's theme is a response to a controversy that arose last year when the Porterville City Council rescinded a mayor's proclamation declaring June as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride month.

The event will be held at 6 p.m. at Centennial Plaza, 296 N. Main St.
