Ex-Fresno State and Clovis North infielder Chris Mariscal makes debut in minors

The Fresno BeeJune 14, 2014

Ex-Fresno State and Clovis North infielder Chris Mariscal was in the lineup at third base and making an impact in his pro baseball debut Saturday with the Everett (Wash.) AquaSox, short-season Class-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.

Mariscal, selected last week in the 14th round of Major League Baseball's June amateur draft, hit a leadoff single in his first at-bat in the third and eventually scored. He went 1 for 3 as the AquaSox lost 3-2 to the Hillsboro Hops.
