Fresno CORAL to close doors

The Fresno BeeJune 13, 2014

Communities Organizing Resources to Advance Learning, or CORAL, announced that after 14 years of service to the Fresno area it will close its doors June 30.

CORAL started in 1999 as an initiative of The James Irvine Foundation to provide outside resources to elementary schoolchildren and their families to increase their capacity to achieve academically.

Fresno became one of five cities chosen for a multimillion-dollar, six-year investment when the United Way of Fresno County and One by One Leadership Foundation joined together to apply for participation and ultimately form Fresno CORAL.
