Arizona University-bound Justin Wright of Clovis West High was among three male swimmers nominated Tuesday to represent Team USA at the second summer edition of the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China.

Wright's national meet résumé includes bronze medals in the 200-meter butterfly at the 2013 Speedo Junior Nationals and the 2012 Junior Pan Pacific Championships. Wright, who also represents the Fresno Dolphins Swim Team, won 10 career Central Section championship gold medals.

The swimming portion of the Youth Olympic Games is Aug. 17-22 at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Center.

Nominated athletes were selected based on the world rankings of times posted in Olympic events at one of six meets between July 2013 and May 2014. Nominations are subject to approval by the U.S. Olympic Committee, which will announce the full roster this month.
