Outages cut power to 2,400 PG&E customers in Fresno, Selma

Pacific Gas & Electric Co. reported multiple power outages affecting about 2,400 people in Fresno and Selma before 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The first outage was reported about 6:20 p.m. at Palm and Shaw avenues in northwest Fresno. It encompassed the Fig Garden Village shopping center and surrounding homes and cut power to 517 customers, according to PG&E's outage tracker.

The second outage, reported only 30 minutes later, was near Ashlan and West avenues in central Fresno and affected 152 customers.

The third and largest outage occurred just before 7 p.m. near the city of Selma and affected as many as 1,700 homes and business as far north as American Avenue.

PG&E was investigating the causes of all three outages.
