Firefighters from multiple agencies say they were gaining on a 30-acre wildfire in Squaw Valley on Monday afternoon.

The fire began right before noon near Highway 180 and Elwood Road, said Cal Fire/ Fresno County Fire spokesman Ryan Michaels. Several outbuildings were destroyed or damaged, but it appears that homes were spared, Michaels said

Cal Fire, along with crews from Fresno, Clovis, Sanger and Fresno County departments, were battling the flames.

Though a few structures were threatened, at 1 p.m. no evacuations had been ordered, Michaels said.

One firefighter sustained heat-related injuries and was taken to a hospital.
