Rotary Club awards scholarships to local high school students

The Rotary Club of Fresno awarded 14 scholarships Friday to local high school students who best exemplified leadership and humanitarian efforts in the Fresno area.

Cassandra Mercado and Lizbet Silva eacj received $500 each for their service with the Rotary INTERACT Club at Duncan Polytechnical High School. Kirsten Vareal of Duncan Polytechnical received $600 for her service to Future Farmers of America. Tristan Rollin, whose high school was not provided, received a $1,000 4H scholarship.

The following students received a $1,000 general scholarship: Albert Agabekyan, Norreen Mansuri and Erica Stevens of University High School; Tanner Melton and Zoua Vang of Edison High School; Victor Quintos and Juliana Rush of Central High School; and Victoria Vu and Alejandro Abraham Valle of Fresno High School.
