Kaiser Permanente Fresno provided a $7,500 sponsorship to the Foundation for Central Unified School District's summer school reading program. The schools include Harvest and Herndon-Barstow elementaries and Central East High.

Assemblyman Jim Patterson named Fresno State students Navreet Kaur Mahal and Touyee Thao and Clovis East High School student Macy Perry as the 23rd Assembly District Agriculture Science Students of the Year.
