Top job: Singer, songwriter and film actor, Kris Kristofferson has been cast as President Andrew Jackson in History's eight-hour television event, "Texas Rising." The series, premiering in 2015, will detail the Texas Revolution against Mexico and the rise of the legendary Texas Rangers.
More bite: Syfy will air a second season of "Bitten" consisting of 10 new episodes. The series will return to the cable channel in 2015. Based on the "Women of the Otherworld" novels by Kelley Armstrong, "Bitten" stars Laura Vandervoort as the lone female werewolf in existence.
Bare necessities: Grill masters and sunbathers beware. TLC gets a little "cheeky" this summer with the all-new series "Buying Naked."
In a community where "in the flesh" takes on a whole new meaning, clothing-optional clients shop the real-estate market with the help of expert agent Jackie Youngblood in Pasco County, Fla. The region north of Tampa Bay boasts the largest concentration of nudist communities in the nation and happily holds the title of "Nudist Capital of America."
TLC follows Jackie and her team as they help "in the buff" homebuyers find their dream house. "Buying Naked" starts at 10 p.m. June 28.
A real kick: "Matador," the irreverent series that chronicles the unlikely rise of Tony "Matador" Bravo (Gabriel Luna), a popular soccer star who comes to be known as much for his playboy antics off the field as his dynamic moves on it, debuts at 9 p.m. July 15 on the El Rey Network.
The series twist is that the Bravo's fans and family don't realize he is a skilled covert operative executing missions for a little-known branch of the CIA.
The cast also includes Alfred Molina, Nicky Whelan, Neil Hopkins and Elizabeth Peña.
