Zombie Run held Saturday to benefit St. Jude hospital

The Mud 'n Blood Zombie Run will be held 8 a.m. Saturday, June 7, at Hobb's Grove, 14265 E. Goodfellow Ave. in Sanger.

Proceeds benefit St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Teams and kids can run, too, and prizes will be awarded for the craziest running wear and best (worst) dressed team. The cost is $28 and up.

Bee columnist Lloyd to speak at genealogical society meeting

Fresno Bee columnist Paula Lloyd will discuss her "Ask Me" column at the Fresno County Genealogical Society meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Woodward Park Regional Library, 944 E. Perrin Ave. Free.

Clovis Art Guild to feature guest demonstrator Thursday

The Clovis Art Guild will meet 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Clovis Veterans Memorial Building, 808 4th St. in Clovis. The guest demonstrator is Claudia Fletcher. The cost is $5 for guests and free to members.

Trunk show, class slated at Valley Oak Quilt Guild Thursday

Valley Oak Quilt Guild will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday at Tulare Community Church, 1820 N. Gem St. in Tulare. Jean Impey will present a trunk show and a class Thursday and Friday on making vintage-looking cards and a basket quilt. There will be a $5 charge for non-members.

Magic, comedy show June 21 to benefit Selma animal shelter

"An Evening of Magic and Laughter" will be held at 7 p.m. June 21 at the Selma Arts Center, 1935 High St. in Selma. Proceeds benefit the Selma Second Chance Animal Shelter. The event will feature The Great Omar, magician Rocky Osborn and emcee and comedian Tom Clark. Showtime is 8 p.m. Tickets cost $25.
