Walmart Foundation gives $90,000 to 2 local nonprofits

The Walmart Foundation awards grants to local organizations twice a year. During the last fiscal year, Walmart and its foundation gave more than $1.3 billion in cash and in-kind contributions to organizations that help people live better.

Walmart Foundation's California State Giving Program has awarded a total of $90,000 to Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission and Central Valley Opportunity Center.

EOC received a $50,000 grant to help provide nutritious food to individuals in four low-income Fresno County communities.

CVOC was award a $40,000 grant to further efforts to provide employment and training to migrant and seasonal farm workers, displaced agricultural workers and other low-income individuals in Madera, Merced and Stanislaus counties.
