Vallarta to mark Muscular Dystrophy donation at Fresno store

The Fresno BeeJune 5, 2014

Vallarta Supermarkets will present a check for $143,556 to the Muscular Dystrophy Association at 11 a.m. June 12 at its 4831 E. Butler Ave. location in southeast Fresno.

Cashiers asked for donations in each of Vallarta's 44 locations throughout the month of May. The Butler Avenue location raised the most of any store, bringing in $16,535.

The MDA says the money will support a one-week summer camp for children with Muscular Dystrophy, research on Muscular Dystrophy and assistance to families affected by the condition.
