Ouch in the eighth: Down 5-4, Rancho Cucamonga's Jon Garcia hit a two-run home run in the eighth as the Quakes beat Visalia 6-5 in a Cal League game Tuesday night. The Rawhide gave up three runs in the inning — all with two outs. Trailing for the first time all game in the top of the ninth, Visalia went down 1-2-3.

Big fans: The Rawhide will honor the Fresno State football team for winning the 2013 Mountain West championship Friday at Rawhide Ballpark. Bulldogs players will be signing autographs on the concourse when gates open at 6 p.m. until the game against Lancaster starts at 7.

Up next: 7:05 p.m. today at Rancho Cucamonga with Visalia's starter TBD against RH Chris Anderson (2-4, 5.96).
