Fresno State honors local attorney Riley Walter for entrepreneurial commitment

Fresno attorney Riley Walter has been awarded the 2014 William M. Lyles Vision Award, California State University, Fresno announced Tuesday.

Walter, a shareholder at the Walter and Wilhelm Law Group in Fresno, was commended for his work as a mentor in the Entrepreneur Mentor Program and as the outgoing chairman of the Advisory Council at the Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Fresno State.

The award was first given in 2010 and honors an individual who recognizes the Central Valley's potential as an area where innovation and entrepreneurship can flourish.

Past recipients include Michael W. Hennessy, president and CEO of The Coleman Foundation; John D. Welty, former president of Fresno State; and Claude Laval III, founder of Claude Laval Corporation in Fresno.
