Final suspect in Fresno gang shooting arrested

The Fresno BeeJune 2, 2014

The third suspect wanted in an April gang shooting was arrested last week, Fresno police announced Monday.

Dion Fields, 21, was one of three Hoover Crip gang members who police said fired shots into an apartment in the 700 block of West California Avenue after an argument April 16.

Two of the suspects were juveniles and were arrested May 1. Their names will not be released, police said.

Fields remained at large until his arrest last Thursday. Officers went to a home in the 1000 block of Collins Street looking for Fields, and he fled through the backyard, jumping fences in the neighborhood.

Officers caught Fields and arrested him on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and exhibiting a firearm.
