Sheriff: Wanted Caruthers man struck victim with gun

A Caruthers man is wanted by the Fresno County Sheriff's Office in connection with a May 26 assault.

Spokesman Chris Curtice said John David Bairos, 35, used a handgun to strike the victim in the 1300 block of South Henderson Avenue in Caruthers. Two days later, deputies attempting to arrest Bairos seized 400 marijuana plants and a large quantity of methamphetamine at his home, Curtice said.

Bairos also is accused to threatening to kill the victim.

Curtice said Bairos should be considered armed and dangerous. The suspect is 6 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 280 pounds. He has short, brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen driving a gold GMC pickup truck.
