Dinuba sawmill fire damage put at $14k

The Fresno BeeJune 1, 2014

A fire at a Sequoia Forest Industries sawmill in Dinuba on Saturday night caused about $14,000 in damage, a Tulare County Fire Department battalion chief said.

The fire started around 8 p.m. in the area of Avenue 430 and Road 72. Fresno and Tulare county firefighters contained the fire in about 35 minutes, said Battalion Chief Mike Green.

The cause, he said, was debris and sawdust that somehow caught fire around an electric motor and other machinery.
