A Los Angeles street gang member was sentenced to 31 years in state prison Friday for shooting a Plainview man in 2012, the Tulare County District Attorney's Office said.

The DA's office said Raul Caro entered the Plainview home on Oct. 30, 2012 with an associate. The home contained 130 pounds of packaged marijuana and more than 70 marijuana plants. Caro shot one of the home's occupants in the neck and threatened a Lindsay man.

Caro's associate is pending trial for his involvement, and the two victims were prosecuted on drug charges.

Caro plead no contest to attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon and admitted firearm use and gang affiliation on April 30.
