Accolades continue for Fresno State outfielder Jordan Luplow

Fresno State outfielder Jordan Luplow's big offensive numbers continue to attract attention from postseason award committees.


Fresno State outfielder Jordan Luplow picked up another postseason honor, with the junior named a semifinalist for the 2014 Gregg Olson Award that recognizes college baseball's "Breakout Player of the Year."

Luplow was one of 36 semifinalists named Friday, narrowed down from the initial 83-man watch list announced May 13. The award is presented by Toolshed Sports.

Finalists are to be announced June 6 at the beginning of Super Regional action. The winner will be named during the College World Series, June 15-26 at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb.

Th 2014 Mountain West Player of the Year hit .377 with 48 RBIs, 21 doubles, nine home runs and 10 steals, slugged .609 and had a .475 on-base percentage — leading the Bulldogs in every statistical category.

Luplow on Thursday was named to Collegiate Baseball magazine's All-America third team. Earlier in the week, he made the semifinal cut for the 37th annual Golden Spikes Award for amateur baseball's best player.
