Stabbing victim found in east-central Fresno

A 40-year-old man was stabbed Thursday evening walking westbound on Gettysburg Avenue toward Cedar Avenue, the Fresno Police Department said.

The victim sustained a single stab wound to his upper chest and had difficulty breathing. He was close to his residence in the 4700 block of East Gettysburg Avenue. Officers believe the crime could have been domestic violence related.

The man was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno for treatment. His injury does not appear to be life-threatening.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 498-STOP (7867). All callers will remain anonymous and could receive up to a $1000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
