Armed man carjacks taxi in southwest Fresno

A taxi was carjacked around 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Fruit and Central avenues in southwest Fresno, the Fresno County Sheriff's Department said.

The suspect, a 30-year-old man, was armed with a gun when he took control of the taxi.

The vehicle was located abandoned at Martin Luther King Boulevard and Jensen Avenue. The driver was unharmed and the Sheriff's Department recovered the vehicle.
