A Fresno man was taken into custody Wednesday in connection with a Jan. 3 shooting in front of Edison High School.

Timothy Rooters, 26, was booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence, Sgt. Jerardo Chamalbide said.

Police became aware of the shooting after the male victim went to Community Regional Medical Center to be treated for a gunshot wound to his arm, Chamalbide said. The victim said he was driving by Edison when he saw Rooters, a man with whom he had a previous dispute over a woman.

The victim said he stopped his car and walked up to Rooters, who shot him. Police received a tip that Rooters was hiding near Kings Canyon Road and Winery Avenue, where he was arrested.
