One arrested, one sought after Fresno police pursuit

A police pursuit in across Fresno ended in one arrest on Wednesday night, police said.

Officers on patrol in the central Fresno neighborhood of Pleasant Avenue and Fountain Way signaled for a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer, occupied by three young males, to stop around 6:30 p.m. The car had a cracked windshield, a violation of the state Vehicle Code, and had failed to stop at a stop sign, police said.

The Blazer refused to stop for police and the officers pursued the Blazer for a brief period in northwest Fresno before the department's helicopter arrived.

Police said the Blazer eventually stopped at Fedora and Del Mar avenues in central Fresno and the three males jumped out of the SUV and fled in different directions. The two passengers were detained, and one was arrested for a probation violation.

The driver was not found but has been identified as a 17 year old wanted for a felony juvenile warrant for violation of a court order. He is now also wanted for evading a peace officer and resisting arrest.
