Rawhide Report 5/28: Bakersfield 6, Visalia 4

The Fresno BeeMay 28, 2014

Leaders play it tight: An error helped load the bases, Beau Amaral singled in the tiebreaking run and Yovan Gonzalez drew a walk for another RBI as Bakersfield got two in the eighth and beat Visalia 6-4 in a Wednesday duel of the top two teams in the Cal League's North Division.

Fast start: The Rawhide were looking good after getting three in the third off Blaze RH Ben Lively, who had not given up more than two runs in a game this season. Bakersfield, though, responded with three in the fourth and built its lead on Visalia back to four games.

Up next: Visalia RH Aaron Blair (0-1, 4.66 ERA) faces LH Wandy Peralta (4-4, 4.56) as the series concludes at 7 p.m. Thursday. Lake Elsinore visits for four games starting Friday.
